Fariha Sheikh, MD FACS is an Assistant Professor at the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School Department
of Surgery, specializing in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency General Surgery. She is a
Rutgers alum having received a BA in Biology from Rutgers College in New Brunswick. She then gained a
wide breadth of training across the country, graduating from General Surgery residency from Dartmouth in
Lebanon, New Hampshire followed by Surgical Critical Care fellowship from the University of Hawaii in
Honolulu. Additionally, she completed two surgical research fellowships, at Mayo Clinic Arizona in Phoenix,
Arizona and Baylor, Texas Children???s Hospital in Houston. She has over 30 publications and has an
interest in surgical education and mentorship.
