Overview
Dr. Gomez obtained his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. He
graduated from the Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School Neurology Residency where he also served as chief
resident, after which he completed a 1 year fellowship in Vascular Neurology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in
Los Angeles California.
He has been at Rutgers Health - NJMS and University Hospital since 2025 and is currently the Associate
Vascular Neurology Fellowship Director and the Associate Stroke Director at University Hospital. He is
especially interested in the impacts of socioeconomic status on stroke patients and in stroke in the young. He
has a keen interest in neurology/vascular neurology education and improvement of how we educate future
physicians in the field.
