Dr. Kumar joins the faculty as a medical oncologist and hematologist at the Rutgers Cancer Institute at University Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of Maryland College Park and received dual degrees in biology and psychology. She also worked extensively at a psychiatric firm and further developed her interest in medicine. She attended medical school at the University of Caribbean, followed by residency and medical oncology and hematology fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she also served as a Chief Fellow. She is passionate about being involved in research and providing clinical trials to patients and will be treating all types of hematologic and oncologic conditions with a special clinical and research interest in breast and gastrointestinal cancers.
