Overview

Dr. Kenneth Yan is a fellowship trained laryngologist and is excited to be a part of the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School's Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Yan completed Otolaryngology residency training at the University of Chicago Medicine and advanced fellowship training at the University of California, Los Angeles. His expertise lies in the management of voice, airway and swallowing problems, including vocal cord paralysis, vocal cord lesions, subglottic stenosis, posterior glottic scar, Zenker's diverticula and post-surgical or post-radiation swallowing issues. In addition, Dr. Yan enjoys treating patients with spasmodic dysphonia and can offer surgical options to his patients such as the selective laryngeal adductor denervation-reinnervation (SLAD-R), which was pioneered by his mentor at UCLA. Dr. Yan is an MD/PhD who is highly published in peer-reviewed journals, with an interest in the upper airway microbiome and its relationship to early laryngeal cancer and airway stenosis.
