Dr. Karim Salem is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery for the Division of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Salem received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in 2013. He then went on to complete his integrated vascular surgical residency training at The University of Pittsburgh in 2020. During his residency, he completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh from 2016-2018. Dr. Salem aims to provide comprehensive, compassionate care that is individualized to the patient by exploring the patient's beliefs, lifestyle, and medical history, bringing the patient closer to his or her personal goals. His clinical interests are Aortic pathology (aneurysm and dissection), carotid disease, peripheral vascular disease, and hemodialysis access.
