Overview
Larry Frohman, a graduate of Swarthmore College (1976), and the Univ. of Penn School of Medicine (1980) completed his Ophthalmology Residency at NYU-Bellevue, and did his Neuro-Ophth training under Dr. Mark Kupersmith. He practices Neuro-ophthalmology, and is Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at NJ Medical School, as well as Vice Chair of Ophthalmology. He is EVP of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS), and has served on its Board for 16 years. He has also served NANOS as its President and Chair of its Educational and Practice Management Committees. He has served the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) as Councilor, Deputy Section Chief of Council, and as initial Chair of the Neuro-ophthalmology/Orbit Section of the practicing ophthalmologist?s curriculum. He was a member of the Self-Assessment Committee, including Chair of its Multimedia Subcommittee, in which role he was one of two AAO members responsible for the concept of the award-winning PROVISION-CD patient simulation series. He has earned a Senior Honor Award, as well as two Secretariat awards for his contributions to AAO. At his medical school, he has twice been Faculty President, and President of the practice plan for 13 years, and an officer of the University Hospital Staff for 20 years. He was Clinical Faculty of the Year for 2012. His interests are unexplained visual loss, vasculitis/autoimmune disease, and sarcoidosis. He has been named in numerous Best Doctors publications.
